Centennial Parklands Wild Play Children’s Garden

"If children lose contact with nature, they won't fight for it". With half of their time spent looking at screens, the next generation will be poorly equipped to defend the natural world from harm. If children don't feel the texture and function of the natural world when they are young, how can we expect them to protect it as they grow older? Centennial Parklands environmental education program is leading the way in nature-based education and play. The number of children the programs can reach however is limited by the available facilities. The Wild Play Children's Garden in Centennial Park will be so much more than a playground. It will be a living play space accessible to all. It will be created with natural materials that will inspire outdoor play, learning and a love of the environment. The Children's Garden will be a safe, community environment where children can engage in managed risk-taking nature-based play and participate in formal environmental education programs in an outdoor setting. By making a donation dedicated to The Children's Garden project you will be helping to deliver a valued gift to the community as well as leaving a lasting legacy for the Parklands. Donations of $2 and over are tax-deductible.
