Encourage Homeless People To Read

How can you help encourage homeless people to read too? As The Footpath Library grow to meet the ever-increasing demand for books, more and more people are asking us how they can support us… What The Footpath Library really needs is ongoing operations funding to keep up with the demand and resources required for book distribution throughout Australia. Financial support received currently goes towards helping The Footpath Library with activities like expanding its services nationally and the day to day running of its services: $1 = 1 book into the hands of a homeless person $5 = milk for tea and coffee served at one of our mobile services $10 = 1 box of books to a shelter for people in need $50 = fuel for our van for a month $100 = packaging supplies for a month $150 = a set of bookshelves for a hostel or refuge There are also future plans to fund new vans for existing branches. Thank you for your interest in The Footpath Library and for supporting our work!

The Footpath Library

The Footpath Library gives donated books from the public and publishers to homeless people. Our mission is to encourage the benefits of reading and connection for homeless people and we do this, thanks to the 90+ volunteers that assist us, by operating libraries in over 100 hostels and shelters (currently in Syd, Melb, Bris, Perth) and also mobile libraries that take books and food for the mind directly to the streets.
